Team Europe defied the odds and a lot of speculation to make it to the 2016 World Cup of Hockey finals. Personally, I didn’t see them going very far in the tournament but here they are. With Team North America eliminated (not making playoffs despite going 2-1 and defeating the top seeded team in the pool; i.e. poor tournament formatting), I don’t really care who wins. I’m just hoping for some awesome hockey to watch while we wait for the NHL season.

As we did with the Team North America equipment blog, we’ll review the sticks, skates, gloves and helmets.

Quick note on the equipment – gloves and helmets aren’t going to be 100% correct. There were a decent amount of players using pro-stock gloves, so I chose the closest existing line. As for helmets, we only broke it down as far as the helmet lines. So when it says Bauer RE-AKT, the helmet can be the RE-AKT 100, RE-AKT 75 or the original RE-AKT. The same goes for the CCM Resistance; it can be any helmet from the CCM Resistance helmet lineup, from top of the line to the cheapest.

Tobias Reider

The 23 year old German sounds like he isn’t going to be reporting to the Coyotes after the World Cup, so we’ll see what ends up happening with him.
