The first month of the 2019-20 season has quickly come and gone and we have the Capitals leading the Eastern Conference and what do you know, the Edmonton Oilers leading the West. Could this finally be the year McDavid and the Oilers make a deep playoff run and have a shot for the cup? I actually think so and going to make the call they make it to the conference final. Let me know your thoughts! With that said we have our NHL's three stars of the week ending Nov 3 - Elias Petterson of the Vancouver Canucks, Jakub Vrana of the Washington Capitals, and Mike Smith of the Edmonton Oilers.

#1 - ELIAS PETTERSSON, VAN

With a whopping 9 points (3g, 6a) Elias led the NHL with points and drove his fellow teammates to 3 wins and 1 OTL. He picked up a four-point game against the LA Kings on Oct 30, which is already is third career four-point performance since joining the league last year. Pettersson is a Bauer guy head to toe, which brings us to his first piece of equipment, the Bauer Re-Akt Helmet. A solid choice amongst NHL Players, the Bauer Re-Akt Line has elite level protection and a range of options to choose from. Bauer's Vapor 1X Lite Hockey Glove is his choice of mitts, which is a tapered fitting glove. It feels snug in the fingers, a comfortable anatomical fit around the backhand, and then opens up around the cuff which all works together to provide the player with a great feel for the stick and amazing mobility for stickhandling as well as shooting. Elias hasn't transitioned over to the Flylite just yet, so we still see him rocking the Vapor 1X Lite Hockey Stick which came out in 2017. Finishing off his skates, you've probably guessed it by now, Vapor Skates. He did transition over to the new 2X Pro Hockey Skates, which have an all-new toe cap that boosts stride performance and efficiency.

#2 - JAKUB VRANA, WASH

Vrana potted 5 goals and registered 1 assist this week, as well notching his first career hat trick when he played the Calgary Flames on Nov 3. He played a major role in helping the Capitals maintain their #1 spot in the NHL as they won all three games this week. He also played a major role in helping my opponent win the goals category in my fantasy hockey league. Jakub wears mainly Bauer with the exception of his pro stock CCM Gloves. Just like Pettersson, Vrana wears the Bauer Re-Akt Helmet and Vapor 2X Pro skates but has made the transition to the Bauer Vapor Flylite Hockey Stick. Introducing the XE Elliptical Taper, which was first used on Easton sticks, Bauer managed to fine-tune its design to maximize shot accuracy and speed with significantly less weight. The Flylite also has other technologies built in that make it extremely light (387 grams) yet incredibly durable.

#3 - MIKE SMITH, EDM

It is no surprise to see Edmonton's tendy, Mike Smith, as the NHL's Third Star of the Week who sealed two victories and posted a 0.98 GAA, .974 SV%. His game against the Penguins was his third career 50 save performance, turning aside 51 shots for a 2-1 overtime victory. Smith now has a 5-3-1 record with a 2.12 GAA and .931 SV%. As a butterfly style goalie, Mike Smith harnesses the fit, comfort, and performance of CCM's Premier II Goalie Line. His leg pads, blocker, and catcher are Premier II, while his stick is CCM's Extreme Flex 4. One of the best features of the glove and blocker is the addition of D30 Smart Foam. This material is soft and flexible in its natural state until receiving an impact, where it quickly hardens to better protect and absorb impact energy. Down low, Smith pushes cross-crease with the help of True Custom Skates.
