As we dip into March, the end of the 2018-19 NHL regular season is just over the horizon and playoffs loom just yonder. Players are starting to pick up the pace and make that final push for that coveted playoff spot. This week we have first star, Marc-Andre Fleury, goaltender from the newest franchise in the league, Vegas Golden Knights. Number two on our list comes from the leading Central Division Winnepeg Jets, Blake Wheeler. At number 3, we recently just saw him two weeks ago, Pittsburg Penguins Captain, Sidney Crosby.
Fleury posted incredible numbers this week and was only 1 save away from tallying 3 shutouts. He finished the week with 3-0-0, 0.33 GAA, .987 SV%, and two shutouts. He leads the league with 32 wins and 8 shutouts, and is only two shutouts away from matching his season record of ten back in 2014-2015. Fleury is the backbone of the Knights and has helped his team stay in third place in the Pacific Division. Fleury is one of the main faces of CCM and is a very skilled butterfly goalie which means one thing, Premier II. The foam used in the Premier II Pads has exceptional rebound technology, providing goaltenders with powerful rebounds which helps eliminate those frustrating second shots. The Premiere II blocker and catcher feature CCM's D30 Technology for ultimate protection. He uses the CCM Pro Goalie Mask, the lightest goalie mask from CCM to date. Marc uses the Premiere II Composite goalie stick which has that great performance and feel that goalies have come to love but with more durability than the previous generation. Finishing off Fleury's set up is the Super Tacks AS1 goalie skates, which feature the one-piece boot construction for an incredible anatomical fit around the foot.
BLAKE WHEELERBlake Wheeler had a pretty solid week potting 5 goals and dishing 3 assists for a total of 8 points. He finished the week strong with a 4 goal performance against the Columbus Blue Jackets, helping his team remain first place in the Central Division. Blake leads the Jets for points (80) and is second amongst NHL'ers for assists this year (63), trailing behind league leader, Nikita Kucherov. As you can tell by the photo, Wheeler is a Warrior dude like fellow teammate, Mark Scheifele. For his bucket, Wheeler uses the Alpha One, which has a true one-piece construction that better absorbs and distributes impact energy. His gloves are the older Warrior QR1 which feature pro-level protection and finger mobility all in a tapered fitting package. His five goals came with the help of the newly, unreleased Alpha DX hockey stick. For skates, Wheeler uses the most popular skate in the NHL, Bauer Vapor 1X hockey skates. Every design that went into the skate was carefully thought out to provide players with speed, agility, and comfort.
SIDNEY CROSBYSidney Crosby worked his way into the third spot with an 8 point performance this week (3G, 5A). With his 4 point performance against the Montreal Canadiens, he stepped past Alex Ovechkin and moved into the 48th position on the NHL all-time points list. His week helped his team hold onto the first Wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference. To quickly recap Sid's gear of choice, he wears the CCM FitLite FL80 helmet, CCM Pro Stock hockey gloves and CCM RibCor 70k hockey skates. His weapon of choice is the CCM RibCor Reckoner hockey stick.
