NHL 3 Stars of the Week - ending Dec 22/19 - Gear Review

Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and enjoy spending some quality time with loved ones. This week's first star is from the Florida Panthers, Noel Acciari. Second Star is Nashville Predators defensemen Roman Josi, and Third Star is Columbus Blue Jackets netminder Joonas Korpisalo.

Acciari potted 7 goals in three games and finished the week with a total of 8 points. He posted hat trick's in two consecutive games, becoming the second player in Panthers history to do so, the other being Pavel Bure. These were his first two career hat tricks as well, which means he is the eighth player ever to score his first two hat tricks in consecutive games. Acciari helped the Panthers to a perfect week and defeated the Ottawa Senators, Dallas Stars, and Carolina Hurricanes. Noel wears Warrior's PX+ Helmet, which boasts different densities of foam for elite-level impact management and comfort. It also has a very easy lengthwise adjustment system. For gloves, he uses Warrior's Covert QRL mitts, which also boast elite-level foam protection to slashes and block shots. He swings the Warrior Alpha DX SL hockey stick, which is a limited edition Alpha DX stick boasting a unique paint job. It utilizes the Alpha's Sabre Taper for amazing shot versatility. Down low are Bauer's 2X Pro skates.

Roman Josi is this week's Second Star and is his second appearance this year. In four games, Josi scored in each one and was tied for third in points amongst fellow NHL'ers (6 goals, 1 assist). With his help, the predators added 7 more standings points and took out the Rangers, Islanders, and Bruins. Josi now leads all NHL defensemen with 13 goals and is third with 33 points, trailing Carlson (47) and Hamilton (35). Roman's gear recap: CCM Tacks 710 Helmet, CCM Pro Stock Gloves, CCM Super Tacks AS2 Pro Stick, and Bauer's Vapor 1X Skates.

#3 Joonas.Korpisalo.jpg

Starting and winning all four games was the Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender, Joonas Korpisalo. He ended the week with a 1.50 GAA and .939 SV%, including one shutout. He blanked the Washington Capitals early in the week and took out the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, and New Jersey Devils. Joonas is the only goalie this season to win all four games within a single week (Mon-Sun). His record now jumps to 16-10-3 with a 2.56 GAA and .910 SV%. He wears a Vaughn goalie mask and Vaughn gear below. A bit of a mix n match, Korpisalo wears the VE8 Pro Blocker while sporting the SLR2 Catcher. His leg pads are the Velocity VE8 Pro's, equipping him the flexibility needed for his hybrid style goaltending. His paddle of choice is Bauer's 2S Pro, boasting amazing playability and rebound control. Once again like so many goalies, Joonas wears custom made skates from True Hockey.
