Bauer Vapor APX2 Protective Gear

The floodgates have opened and the highly anticipated Bauer Vapor Protective Gear is now shipping out! And trust me, you won’t be disappointed. But don’t fret, because players at every level will be able to find the right gear to fit their game. So let’s take a closer look at some of the new features Bauer has integrated into the Bauer Vapor lineup.

Bauer Vapor protective equipment is probably the most popular out of the three lines Bauer offers due to the lightweight, low profile design that makes players feel like they don’t have anything on. That being said, Bauer stayed true to their design when they constructed their new protective gear. But what makes these pads stand out from the rest?

For starters, Bauer integrated their new AeroLite™ foams into key parts of each APX2 protective piece as well as the next step down, the X100. How this works is that they layered multiple different types of foams on top of each other, kind of like a sandwich, and thermo-formed them to create it. The way it translates is that it greatly increases impact dispersion properties as well as reducing the overall weight of the product by about 25-30% when comparing it to the previous APX model. The all exposed foam caps on the shoulder pads are composed of AeroLite,
and it’s where players will feel the most difference from other shoulder caps, because it’s super lightweight, and its just as hard as plastic shoulder caps.

This is where I feel like Bauer really stepped it up this year and implemented game changing technologies into their new gear. When you’re playing, your body spends tons of energy trying to keep itself cool, hence the never-ending sweat. That being said, the new 37.5™ moisture wicking technology evaporates the sweat using your body heat so that you won’t need to expend any energy cooling yourself down, and you can take that energy and put it back into your game. All of the APX2 gear across the board features this stuff and it’s pretty awesome. How it works in there are molecules embedded in the liner that add 800% more surface area to the yarn, which in turn creates a faster evaporation process. 37.5™ in turn releases all the heat
trapped underneath your pad, maintaining an ideal temperature level. It also features an anti-odor feature that rejuvenates each time you wash your gear. Compared to other liners, the 37.5™ dries up to 5 times faster than similar liners, which is a big difference.
